Wesner Still WBF World Champion

Nicole Wesner successfully defended the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Lightweight title for the sixth time on Saturday night, April 1, at the Hotel InterContinental in her home-town of Vienna, Austria.

World champion since December of 2014, Wesner stopped former foe Hasna Tukic from Bosnia & Herzegovina in the fourth round. Wesner had won their first fight in 2017 by decision.

Wesner, from Germany but based in Austria, remains undefeated at 18-0 (8). Tukic, fighting out of Germany, drops to 12-9 (9).

In another rematch, Austria-based Czech Michaela Kotaskova set the record straight against Moroccan Mahjouba Oubtil to win the vacant WBF Womens Intercontinental Welterweight title.

The pair had fought to a draw for the same title last December, but this time Kotaskova came out on top by split decision after another close bout.

Judges Rainer Schwarz and Gerhard Sigl scored it 97-93 and 96-94 for Kotaskova, while judge Bulcsu Gabris had it 96-94 for Oubtil.

Kotaskova took her professional record to 3-0-2 (0), and Oubtil falls to 4-3 (1).
