Peeters debuts in win over Flyers

Wouter Peeters made 32 saves in his Flames debut and collected his first win in part thanks to a Brett Ferguson overtime goal that helped lift the Flames to a 3-2 extra time win on the road at Fife Flyers.

Just over 4 minutes into the evening, Corbin Baldwin put the visitors in the lead and his marker was still the only one on the board through the opening frame.

A 23rd minute powerplay goal by Ian Watters doubled the difference and Peeters had turned aside 24 shots at the close of 40 minutes to hold Spectrum’s men in the 2-goal lead.

Flyers finally broke through at 44:47 with a Mike Cazzola strike to cut their deficit to a single, and a follow up by Sam Jones inside the final 10 minutes of regulation offered each team a point before Ferguson's goal at 61:37 sent his side back to the bus with the extra table digit.

“That’s a big win for us,” said Paul Dixon. “We were good for the lead after a couple of periods but Fife really poured it on in the end. It was a good show by us to make sure we guaranteed at least the one point that got us to OT.”
